Yes, if you want to use Spotify with Songify.
Spotify changed its Web API requirements in 2026. Using the Web API now requires Spotify Premium, and Development Mode applications are subject to additional restrictions.
You'll need to create your own Spotify Developer application and connect it to Songify.
This also gives Songify access to the Spotify features it needs for things like currently playing information, song requests, queue management, and playback control.
Don't use Spotify? Songify also supports YouTube Music through Pear Desktop, which doesn't require Spotify or a Spotify Developer application.
